Cora Marie Hill

Cora Hill was born on December 3, 1913 on the family farm in rural Bowsman to James and Mary McIntosh. She was the oldest daughter of a family of 11. She attended the Craigsford School. Cora married David Hill on October 24, 1934 on the family farm. They raised four children, Donald, Isabel, James and Nellie. David and Cora operated a shingle and saw mill and also mixed farm with cows, pigs, chickens and grain. Cora had a huge garden ever year and loved to garden. In the fall of 1968, Cora and David moved to the town of Bowsman. Unfortunately David passed away the next year on May 16th.

Cora was an active member of the Lenswood W.I., Bowsman W.I., Bowsman 4-H Club, Bowsman Senior Citizens and Bowsman Ladies Auxiliary. Cora enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, sewing, baking, playing crib and visiting with friends and family.

Due to failing health, Cora moved first to the Benito Health Centre in December of 2000. She then moved to the Swan Valley Lodge in January 2001, where she resided until her passing on January 12th, 2005.

Cora was a dedicated member of Bowsman United Church. Her work and witness will not be forgotten.
