Cora
Hill was born on December 3, 1913 on the family farm in rural Bowsman
to James and Mary McIntosh. She was the oldest daughter of a family
of 11. She attended the Craigsford School. Cora married David Hill
on October 24, 1934 on the family farm. They raised four children,
Donald, Isabel, James and Nellie. David and Cora operated a shingle
and saw mill and also mixed farm with cows, pigs, chickens and grain.
Cora had a huge garden ever year and loved to garden. In the fall
of 1968, Cora and David moved to the town of Bowsman. Unfortunately
David passed away the next year on May 16th.
Cora was an active member of the Lenswood W.I., Bowsman
W.I., Bowsman 4-H Club, Bowsman Senior Citizens and Bowsman Ladies
Auxiliary. Cora enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, sewing, baking,
playing crib and visiting with friends and family.
Due to failing health, Cora moved first to the Benito
Health Centre in December of 2000. She then moved to the Swan Valley
Lodge in January 2001, where she resided until her passing on January
12th, 2005.
Cora was a dedicated member of Bowsman United Church.
Her work and witness will not be forgotten.
